Needed a paddle that could take some abuse and ideally floated. Well this paddle is just that, plus is made of carbon which helps with weight. Large blade surface area that allows you to push some serious water in any direction you needed. I like the larger diameter of the shaft, since I have jacked up both my hands/writs. Easier for me to grip and hand onto.

This paddle digs! With a ton of surface area, you can really move your board around to where you want. It also performs a solid brace when in the meat. Being adjustable is also very helpful. I like it shorter in big water and a little longer on the flat sections. A great all around paddle.
