The KUIU Scarpa R-Evolution 8 HD handles long days of hiking though rough terrain, while keeping your feet comfortable and dry. They're ideal when a moderate mixed terrain is expected and the need for a stiff mountaineering boot isn't necessary.

Synthetic Upper

In wet weather, all-leather uppers eventually get soaked, take on water weight, and lack breathability. Once wet, leather is slow to dry, and once they dry, shrinkage normally occurs, causing an inconsistent fit.

The R-Evolution 8 HD is full synthetic, so it doesn't have the issues associated with an all-leather boot. Synthetic materials absorb less moisture in the system, they're quick-drying, and don't shrink while drying. Synthetic boots also require less maintenance and they're lighter than an all-leather boot.

The boot's sides, which are typically subjected to heavy wear-and-tear, are paneled with Super Fabric - an extremely durable, synthetic material featuring ceramic dots which improve durability, while keeping it super breathable.

Adding rock scuffing durability, the lower section of the boot's upper is built with a full-wrap rubber rand.
