Lowe Alpine, like many of the avid users of their best in class backpacks, has always chosen to blaze their own path. The first Lowe Alpine pack was created over 50 years ago, invented by Greg Lowe in the basement of his parent’s home in Ogden, Utah. He wanted to create the ultimate climbing backpack, a pack that would be stable, supportive and lightweight. Lowe did just that with the Expedition pack – a revolutionary pack that has since been placed on the ‘Most Influential Gear Of All-Time’ list.
Since the early days of inventing in a basement, Lowe Alpine has catapulted into the stratosphere of elite backpacks, featuring a full range of high-end packs including: backpacking packs, backpack accessories, day packs, multi-day packs, and more. Lowe Alpine has created packs for the military, mountain climbers, and just about every backpack niche known to man.
And while Lowe Alpine’s business has expanded and grown exponentially the original Lowe Alpine concept has stayed the same, having kept their original internal framed packs that are descendants of the Lowe ‘ Expedition’ pack, keeping its same idea and general design in helping all the avid outdoors people and even the everyday trekkers find comfort and balance.
