I know that they are advertised as hiking pants, but their reinforcement on the bottom, knees and back combined with their very light weight, made me think that they would be good emergency mountaineering pants. Unfortunately, their bad cut make them very motion restricting (it's hard to lift your knee even to horizontal level). They should be OK if you only do simple on trail ... Read more
