There are 2 poles per pack , as always MSR makes a good product, Sturdy not wobbly . Light for the strength . I build my own tarp shelters for rainy weather and winter as I sleep in Big Agnes three wire bivy sack ! I would recommend 4 foot pole as it goes to almost 5 feet adjustable , I can’t imagine a two man or solo shelter that needs to be over 5 feet high !
