When this stove came out in 2007 is was supposed to be the holy grail of stoves. Let's just say it is and it isn't. I used this stove to melt snow in the middle of winter on 5 ft of snow at the top of 9,000ft peak in Logan, UT. I don't know any other stove that could have melted that snow as quick or as efficiently. There were 5 of us and we all just used this one stove for all... Read more

Not sure what took so long to purchase this stove but I'm sad I didn't purchase is sooner. I've used all manner of stoves, and this one ticks all the right boxes. Its very packable even at 1.7L, a 8oz canister fits with the burner assembly nicely. This stove is so quite it is sort of weird to get used to, almost makes you feel like it isn't doing anything until your water bo... Read more

I've used it in high wind settings, rainy conditions and on extended trips with great success. I like that all the attachments fold into to each other. I also purchased the coffee press and this was a good investment. It makes reliable coffee ... Read more

I bought this stove system to boild water for our small group.
It works so great as it is designed for. For boiling water, it is very fast, and it is the better than any other stove.
The 1.7L system is good for 2 to 6person as my experience. But you need to use another stove such as MSR windpro to make some cooking work, since the reactor is just good for boiling water.

I tried this with a bunch of Boy Scouts on a Philmont practice hike. The temps got down to ~30 overnight. The next morning, we brought 2 liters (we used the 2.5L Pot)of very cold water to a full rolling boil in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend this. We're taking 3 for our group of 12
