A waterproof/breathable backpacking boot for moderate loads combining the lightweight flexibility of a running shoe with a supportive hiking boot upper. Take these desert-loving boots and slosh through the side creeks of the Escalante in pursuit of its red canyon alcoves. The flexible waterproof/breathable air mesh and leather nubuck upper is light and fast; the GORE-TEX® gasket construction with a waterproof/breathable liner seals out moisture. The internal support construction wraps and secures the midfoot while the recycled EVA (15%) dual-density footbed provides arch support and stability. Patagonia Air Cushion Plus is shock-absorbent and an ultralight TPU arch shank supports and protects. The Deep Dish Helium Light EVA (25% lighter than normal EVA) foot frame features a built-in shock distribution plate that cradles the foot to provide optimal rearfoot stability and forefoot flexibility. Vibram® P26 dual-density rubber sole provides excellent traction.
