Product Info for Polar Pure Water Disinfectant

Polar Pure Water Disinfectant uses pure crystallized iodine in a unique delivery system to destroy water-borne pathogens including giardia cysts and micro-organisms (viruses) that pass through filters. Simply add water to your Polar Pure bottle. Does not deteriorate with extremes in temperature. Has an indefinite shelf life. Is safe and fully effective to use as long as you can see iodine crystals at the bottom of the bottle. One bottle treats up to 2000 quarts of water. Dosage chart is printed on the bottle. Bottle cap is used to measure and decant solution -- no other equipment needed. Small size and light weight makes it convenient for backpacking and travel. Essential for emergency preparedness.image

Water safety in a lightweight bottle. Kills viruses that filtration misses. Only Con is taste, easily cured by adding commercial water flavor packs.

Don't listen to me when I say that I took this product on 40 Himalayan treks and expeditions--and it was invaluable. Listen to the medical article in Lancet that says that this is the best form of wilderness and third world water purification available. The iodine drops run out. my favorite water purification method

I started out using Aqua Mira on the Appalachian Trail, and switched to Polar Pure. It's easier to use. And so much easier, more reliable, and less bulky than a pump. I used it a couple times a day almost every day for several months, and it never ran out. Slight iodine taste, but it doesn't bother me much. For Backpacking & Disaster Preparedness

Iodine based purification that does not expire. It's lightweight, saves space, and purifies the water as any iodine-based purifier. I like the fact that it doesn't expire. I use iodine as a backup to my filter or as a light alternative on day-hikes. Be careful with the glass bottle. The company says[...] Don't let it freeze. Don't drop on the rocks.
