I'm usually a size 9 1/2 wide. Should I get the medium or large?

I would recommend moving up to the large since you are on the end of the Medium scale, and have a wider foot.

I'm considering these socks. They seem to be what I am looking for, but they are very expensive for socks. Are they worth the money? What about long term durability?

These definitely are good socks worth the money you pay. Also I have heard from a couple friends that they last very long.
