It is not recommend to use the Hot Spot for regular tent camping. It’s designed to be used to hold a sleeping pad in place in the hammock. With regular and proper use, it shouldn’t be prone to tearing.

This product was made specifically to fit around a pad and placed in the ENO hammock. This is only a nylon cover for a pad, so laying it on the ground alone, without a pad probably wouldn't be comfortable.
