The newton climbing shoe has a very thick and stiff sole. This will make a good platform for edges, but you will lose a bit of sensitivity. Overall they would be a great shoe for face climbing, especially edging.

It says on the website that the shoes are for "Five Ten's Newton is their stiffest shoe with a supportive midsole and sole designed for cracks, slabs and all-day routes. " There is no listing of face climbing or edging.
