Can you help me understand the range of volume in this pack from 8 to 18 L? Does it reach 18L capacity in its pictured form, just by loading it up, or do you have to convert it to daypack form to get that volume? Does it just expand upward? Thanks. — 2 Answers

You are correct, it will expand upwards to carry 18 L. I have added a picture to the product page that better illustrates the conversion.
