I found them to run true to size. I'm 5'11" (180cm), about 188lbs and althletic. When I'm in top shape, I can manage to fit into a 32" waist depending on the garment. However, 33-34" has always been much safer for me. I bought the Alpine Guide Pants in a 34". The fit is spot-on for me. I could wish for just a slight bit more room in the thighs but I am able to fit a single light or mid-weight base layer underneath without a problem. More than that and I'd be concerned about feeling constricted though.

They run normal fit but come can fit someone in a size up if need. The material is breathable allowing you to be comfortable in a smaller size. The pants also come in a 34.
