What is the difference between the Ascent and the Neutrino Endurance jacket?

Thanks for your question! Both jackets utilize the same outer fabric (pertex endurance) which is a lightweight fabric that maintains decent durability for the weight. They both have hydrophobic treated down (which provides greater water resistance) but the Ascent has 650 Fill duck down vs the 800 Fill goose down. Duck down is less expensive compared to goose down which accounts for a higher cost. The Ascent also has 10oz of down compared to the listed 9oz in the Neutrino Endurance. Since the Neutrino Endurance has a higher quality of fill it will be considerably warmer compared to the Ascent (compared ounce for ounce higher quality fill will loft more allowing for more warmth and less weight). The Neutrino Endurance also packs down smaller than the Ascent due to the higher quality fill power.

I would recommend the Ascent for folks pursuing more "recreational" pursuits and the Neutrino Endurance for folks engaged in more "technical' activities. For colder climates, however, regardless of activity I would recommend the Neutrino Endurance as it is substantially warmer.
