Thank you for your question! It has the same construction, but has some key differences. First is that GORE-TEX is a very burly membrane fabric that has very high water pressure ratings(psi) resistance. It is marketed as a durable long term product. While this product is going to last for quite a while, it uses Shield+, which is Pertex's lightweight membrane fabric. It would comparable to something like GORE-TEX 2L or 3L Pac-Lite. The benefit of the Pertex is the stretch that isn't available in most GORE-TEX garments. Hope that helps and let us know if you have any additional questions!
