Hello bill, the Rab superlite shelter is designed to be a makeshift shelter to be used as a last resort to provide protection from the element's. As it is not insulated it would not provide adequate warmth for colder situations.

Yes you can use this in winter conditions, but keep in mind this is meant to keep you dry and prevent you from being exposed to the elements. It does not offer any sort of insulation, it is meant to keep you dry not warm.
