This overshoe is mabe by NEOS and features Stabilicers cleats. This overshoe has an overall height of 11in.

Do these fit into ratchet style (modern) snowshoe bindings?

Without trying it in your binding it is hard to know for sure. I imagine the buckle on the overshoe will cause discomfort if covered by the binding.

If I wear a running shoe of 8.5 would need the medium size???? Cause I do not like to wear regular boots . Would like to cover my tennis shoes instead

Included below is the manufactures sizing recommendations for this product. If you are referring to a women's size 8.5, the manufacture recommends a size S.
Men's boot size: S (5.5-7), M (7.5-9), L (9.5-11), XL (11.5-13).
Women's boot size: S (7-8.5), M (9-10.5), L (11-12.5), XL (13-14.5).
