Thank you for your inquiry. Most customers have reported they wore their usual shoe size. I would recommend getting the 8 1/2 and wear a light-medium sock. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions. Also, remember that we offer a fit guarantee so if you do need to exchange the size we will cover the shipping costs. Please try to wear them inside when testing the fit if at all possible.
