Comfortable hiking shoe - Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Hiking Shoes - Men's

I wanted to hike several hours in these boots/shoes before giving a review. They are very comfortable right out of the box. As for the size, I ordered my usual size and they fit good. Not big like many others have found. I'm a woman but quite often buy the men's so instead of an 11 in women's I got a 9.5 in mens. These shoes are light. Light enough that I wouldn't carry a very heavy pack wearing them. I was skeptical about the mesh on top of the shoe and for good reason. A lot the trails that I hike are not on a flat surface so my foot is at an angle. With these shoes my foot tends to slip do to the stretchy material on top of the shoe. Kind of annoying. They also do this going down hill even if I have them laced up good and tight. Overall, I like the shoe, but don't love it. I will keep them because they are very stylish and I can wear them doing other things besides hiking. I have several pairs of other Adidas hiking boots and love them. But they are more stable and more for hiking in tougher conditions. Also, these shoes are light enough to trail run in but do to the slipping around my foot did on non-flat surfaces, I would hesitate to use them for running.
