I bought this pack to use for short 2-4 day backpacking trips, and it is perfect for that. I am not an ultralight backpacker, but I keep it down to the essentials without worrying about weight too much. Trips any longer than that, I'd have to either get serious about minimalist/ultralight packing, or get a bigger pack.
