Dissatisfied's Review of ALPS Mountaineering Lay-Z Lounger
I've had 4 of these chairs for 5 years. The chairs were pricier than the competition but the lifetime warranty was a selling feature when I bought them. Other reviews are correct that the wood handles have inadequate finish and deteriorate quickly. I too had to sand them down and polyurethane them. Other than that the chairs have been very good until now. I've recently dealt with ALPS on a warranty issue on one of my chairs. The big plastic braces under the arms snapped in two on one of my chairs. I have had multiple discussions with the ALPS warranty department and they claim that it's normal wear and tear. If that were the case I'd expect to see this defect on my other three chairs which have been used and stored in the same way. If these chairs just last five years then the "lifetime warranty" is totally worthless in my opinion. About the only way ALPS will honor a warranty is if the chairs are never used outside
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Worthless lifetime warranty
