Most Helpful Positive Review Just a little too heavy and bulky for the AT.
After completing my Adk 46, I moved to Florida and sold the majority of my base camping/overnight hiking equipment. Now I'm planning on hiking the AT in sections and bought this air pad because of it's wide with for my 6'2" frame. The length is long enough for my upper body and lower hip area. The air pad is well made and comfortable but for my needs it is a little too heavy and it cannot be rolled up to a smaller length - it has to be rolled along it's width of 25". Any recommendations for an air pad that is 1# or less? Sea to Summit is a possibility if I can get one at a good price. Happ...

decent pad and great price

by TaraHan, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 15, 2018
Although this is a little bulky and not super lightweight, it's a comfortable and easy to inflate pad which seems very well made. I guess it could be used for backcountry camping if strapped to the outside of your pack. Paired with a decent sleeping bag it's quite comfortable. Not super thick but it works well enough. If you purchase this just be aware it does not self inflate as well as some others but for this price its worth the few extra puffs you'll need to blow to get it fully inflated.

You won't be disappointed in quality in this pad for the price I just got it from Campsaver recently.lookong forward to trying out this camping season. I shoped around and Campsaver seams to have the best deal at the time of purchase on this pad

A Quality, Affordable Sleeping Pad

by Keith, from VA, United States Written on March 20, 2018
I have only owned it for about 7 weeks, so I have not had a chance to use it much. However, I thus far am very impressed. It inflates quickly and easily, and you can top it off with a few quick breaths or a couple of seconds with an air pump for a firmer, more supportive mattress. It provides a firm, comfortable pad that definitely makes sleeping on a hard surface much easier. When you are done, it easily rolls up for packing and stowing. Please note, however: 1) while very comfortable, this pad is fairly thin - you will feel the ground when turning or sleeping on your side; and 2) it is not very compact, so it is best strapped to the bottom of your pack, rather than being stowed inside.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive, comfortable.
Cons:
  • Not very compact.

Nice Sleeping Pad

by Johnny, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on January 7, 2018
I have a regular one buy at promotion time. The packed size is a little bit long and big although the weight is acceptable. It is very comfortable and warm when sleeping on it. Overall is nice Sleeping Pad with reasonable price.

Alternative Use

by Layton Aaron, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2017
I stumbled across this abnormally sized pad while looking for a size that would work on a child size set of Disk O Bed bunk bed cots. These pads seem built well with strong valves and good thickness. Fits the cots perfectly.
Pros:
  • Comfort, Build and size
Cons:
  • NONE
Best Used for:
  • Disc O Bed cots or a slightly smaller camping mat option

Great value for the price

by Denis S., Written on June 26, 2017
Comfy and sturdy. However it is not enough to just release the cap and let it suck in the air as instructions suggest. You'll still to need to blow some in if you want it to hold your weight. Another thing - instructions suggest to store them in open state to insure foam doesn't lose its structure. I wonder who actually does it. I don't and no one I know does it. So I'll have to see what happens to that foam couple of years from now. Otherwise - very nice product, especially for its price.

Excellent value for the money

by perry j., Written on April 6, 2017
I recently ordered Thermarest Camp Rest ground pads and ALPS Lightweight Series ground pads. Very similar products, except the ALPS has a higher quality brass air valve- likely more durable and certainly higher quality than the plastic air valve on the Thermarest. The ALPS was less costly and has a better valve. ALPS is the best value.

Good quality. Definitely thick enough

by Sarah H., Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on September 16, 2016
Good quality. Definitely thick enough to protect you from rocks, but seems like a good base pad for car camping, as I like a little more cushion. Feedback from campmate; comfortable concrete. i would buy again.

I haven't taken it out

by Nicholas R., Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on March 15, 2016
I haven't taken it out camping yet. However, I can say, that it inflates fast and is comfortable to lie on.
