Cassiar jacket, men's medium - Arc'teryx Cassiar Jacket - Men's

I needed a new ski jacket with a powder skirt and good back country capabilities. Ordered Viper Yellow (for visibility) and size Medium. Craftsmanship was excellent and design features were appropriate for a top-of-the-line shell ski jacket that would be used primarily for in-area and side country skiing. If you're looking for a jacket more suited to back country excursions then this jacket is not the best choice. Hand pockets would be better with the zippers closed at the top of the pocket openings (for back country), especially if you're wearing a pack. For my size and height, my pack's hip belt interfered with the bottom of the hand pockets. Single interior mesh/dump pocket is adequate, but two would be better (this is a problem with most of Arc'teryx Whiteline series - with the fit and features I require, they only have a single interior mesh pocket; I don't need a "relaxed" or "expedition" fit). Interior zippered chest pocket would be better if it was slightly larger regardless of where you ski. Light interior insulation in the collar is a really nice touch; would love to see it in the Stingray jacket. Overall the Cassiar is a great jacket but I had to return it because: I needed larger hand pocket openings; the problem with my pack's belt; and the overall cut/size was still little larger for me in the chest area than I prefer, even though the jacket is in the Arc'teryx "trim" category. I am 5'11", 156 lbs, 39" chest; my dress shirt size is 34" arms and 15 1/2" neck. If you are looking for a shell jacket for mostly in-area skiing and don't wear a pack, this jacket is darned near perfect. Was sad to return it. I hope this review helps the readers.
