Reviews & Ratings for Arc'teryx Cerium SL Vest - Men's
— 4 reviews — Page 1
I bought this after much research. I knew going in there were no hand pockets but really wish there were now (I hear their 2018 version now has pockets). at 4+ oz it is as light as it gets but I really thought it would compress smaller (Arcteryx website photos of a guy holding it in his palm seem to me like he must be squishing it to get it that size). It is definitely an athletic cut and I was on verge of returning it since I am not the most athletic guy (5'9" 190lbs - got a size L) and it was a little tight for what I usually wear-like Patagonia. I found this vest to be ideal for backpacking - light and easily compact able into a built in stuff sack yet substantially warm when added as a mid layer as the weather turns cool. The vest retains even fill density with use but is not bulky.
Pros:
Light, warm, compact
Cons:
Expensive
Best Used for:
Backpacking (multiple days)
Would recommend: Yes

This vest from Arc'teryx is light, sleek, and looks great. It provides warmth without being bulky. I am 6'2" and my XL fit good although it would be a little snug with bulky cloths underneath it. I would recommend this vest to the guy who wants to walk around in style. .
Pros:
incredibly light and waterproof
Cons:
No hand pockets at sides
Best Used for:
under a light shirt
Would recommend: Yes

Arc'teryix makes great stuff this isn't one of them. It has no hand warmer pockets! Most of us will use this over a light base layer. Useless without pockets. Not many need an 850 down core warmer inside a jacket or shell. A Patagonia Nano puff vest is just as light & has 3 pockets! It even works when wet.
