Fleurycat's Review of Arc'teryx Codetta Coat - Women's
I am thrilled with this rain coat! First of all it is really and truly waterproof (not just water resistant) which is a requirement here in the PNW, but it is also stylish. It is shaped, but still roomy enough to layer warm layers or a dress jacket underneath (I’m 5’7”, 127). I’ve had so many raincoats that don’t accommodate sweaters or dress jackets underneath, and since it rains here so much, that can prove a real deficit. These features are difficult to find in one jacket. This is an older model, so the zipper is one way, and although I’m a big fan of two way zippers and would have preferred the upgrade, I don’t have any trouble zipping this up myself as one reviewer mentioned. The hood has also been improved on the newer model, and that was also a necessary adjustment, because this one cannot be adjusted from back to front, but it is not a deal breaker since I did purchase this at a great price. The black color in particular lends this coat a dressier appearance, and I’m sure it would also be stunning in the Black Sapphire as well. This also makes it more versatile and the Arc’teryx and Goretex logos are subtly stylish on the sleeves. I like the slim, long fit of the Imber rain coat, which does feature an adjustable hood, but find the Codetta much more versatile. DH is jealous that I found it on sale.
Pros:
Versatile
waterproof
Stylish and comfortable
Goretex
Fitted but roomy
Cons:
Hood lacks adjustment available on current model
One way zipper
Best Used for:
travel
Urban wear
