Delightfully warm

by JIN, from OR, United States Written on November 9, 2020
I bought this as a base layer for skiing and it hasn’t let me down yet. I use it mostly on cold days, wearing this, a medium weight fleece and shell jacket. Really does the job and is super comfy. While it is certainly a bit pricey, I feel it was money well spent, especially when the wind is howling on the ski lift.

deserts of the Tlakamakan and Gobi to the Himalayas and the Andes, jungles in Africa or Amazonas and as shelter

Must have for winter

by Travis, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on November 7, 2019
I absolutely love this base layer! I wear it all the time around the house as my more cozy sweater alternative. Not only is it a great stand alone but it will obviously preform its primary function as a base layer flawlessly, keeping you warm and wicking moisture. I find myself most of the year besides summer, in varying degrees of Arc’teryx base layers. I feel it is the most comfortable and stylish gear around and when it actually gets cold, just throw some more layers on top of it! I couldn’t be more satisfied.

Well-made Polartec® Power Stretch jacket

by Physicist, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 9, 2018
Very well made Polartec® Power Stretch jacket. I found the fit a bit tight around armpits.

Power Stretch is my favorite fabric for the base layer in cold and windy conditions. It adds noticable wind resistance and warmth without significantly compromising breathability. The downside is that it does not dry as fast as some other base layers.

Arc'teryx being Arc'teryx, this jacket is seriously overpriced at MSRP. If you can get it at deep discount though, I would recommend it. And soon, we might not have a choice - most manufacturers seem to have abandoned Power Stretch in favor of newer fabrics that do not perform quite as well in this role.
Pros:
  • durable
  • warm
  • wind resistant
Cons:
  • slow drying
Best Used for:
  • base layer in cold and windy conditions

Warm Fleece

by MIchael, from AR, United States Written on March 22, 2018
This is my second Arc'teryx AR RHO fleece pullover. It is very warm and comfortable. It is so thick, it is almost too warm for hiking, but once you settle into camp, it will keep you warm. I take mine in my backpack and use a lighter weight fleece to wick sweat and use this one once I have set up camp. The quarter zip is nice to adjust airflow. I bought the second one just because I wanted another color. It is very durable.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • Great Fit
  • Well made
Cons:
  • pricey
Best Used for:
  • Very cold conditions

Top quality

by Ken, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on March 12, 2018
Top quality and good fitting. Nice to wear as mid or base layer. The color is easy to match in casual days. Try before you purchase on line. It close to the body quite tight on my normal size. I guess the design is supposed to be that way. I chosen one size up to make myself not look like a sausage.

Great Top

by caleb m., Written on March 26, 2017
This top fits like a long john type shirt, so its meant to be tight. (something I didn't realize) however I'm 6'3 230lbs and the XL fits me great, not too tight and it's comfy to wear outside or just for lounging inside. All in all its a great base layer!
