I made this for dinner last weekend which was around 30 degrees out and used the package it came in but the prep time went from 13 mins to 25 and the rice was hard. I would suggest pouring it in your pot and put stove on low until rice softens. Other then that it had food flavor and I'll buy another to try it with the pot.
