Great space - opening a pain - BearVault BV500 Journey Bear Resistant Food Canister

I recently did a 3 day backpack at Rock Creek, CA. It was an easy hike in and I needed to carry food for my wife and I. We had plenty of room but I would suggest getting the smaller version as a second to hold toiletries, deet etc.

As people have mentioned on several sites about this canister the mechanism to open the lid can be tricky especially in cold weather.
