A little heavy for me to backpack in the winter but warm beyond belief. Only got to 10 degree the first night out. But with the hot water bottle and pocket warms in my socks I got hot ! Opened the hood and collar and was comfortable for the rest of the night. Do wish it packed down smaller but for base camp its great. If you don't mind extra weight don't let that stop you!
