In sunshine and in rain! - Big Agnes Bunk House 6 Tent

70-something year old guy here, who still likes to camp .. but now car camping. This is a first impressions review. I'll review it again after more use. Arrived well-packed. Label says "Made in (Guangzhou) China. Sewn in Vietnam." Good craftsmanship. The tent itself has great ventilation. It's largely mesh except for the floor and the sides below waist level. I put it up by myself without much trouble in about 15 minutes but a partner would speed things up. The rain fly took me another 20 minutes. Because the tent is 6'11" tall it took me several tries to toss the fly up and over. The front vestibule is a great feature and has space for a couple of camp chairs. I set it up in my yard and left it overnight as a Carolina thunderstorm rolled in. The rain fly seams are taped and it covers the tent completely and kept the inside bone dry. With the fly on, if you leave the vestibule partly open rain can't enter the tent itself but it still allows some ventilation. Because of the large side area, be sure to stake down the fly in strong winds! There are ample tie-down points and guy lines. The (16)supplied aluminum stakes are strong and will penetrate hard ground with a little effort. Folding and stuffing everything back into the carry backpack takes a little time for one person but the bag is large enough for everything. A practical nice touch is the 6" "splint" that can be used to repair a broken tent pole. Over all, a very nice tent. A bit on the expensive side .. but should last long enough for my son and grandchildren to enjoy!
