Russ C.'s Review of Big Agnes Rabbit Ears Tent - 6 Person, 3 Season
I got to use my new Big Agnes Rabbit Ears 6 person tent with my brother this past weekend. The set up was easy for two people. Only two very long poles and one short pole for the rain fly (I practiced setting it up on my lawn alone and found it challenging - alright once I staked the four corners first). Advise: stake the four corners first!
One must pay close attention while running the main poles through the top sleeves of the tent. The ends get tight against the material as you push through - it might possibly poke through if you don't run it gently. But, once there in it's a few clips on the poles on all sides.
The rainfly takes the small pole with the blunt ends which simply are placed in the small pockets with the finger loop to help insert. Throw the fly on, clip in the four matching colored tabs, and stake down the adjustable guy lines. Your done!
We had no ventilation issues even with the small window and door window closed (door window only opens about 1/3 of the door size). The mesh roof vent works well with the yawning style rainfly. The 6.5' tall and roomy interior great for two twin or full size air mattresses.
Reason for 3 star rating: Door window only 1/3 size of door, large storage & pole bags had several holes and punctures when I received.
Pros:
Easy Set Up
zippers easy to use
Roomy interior
Cons:
door window too small
damaged storage bags
Best Used for:
Car/campground camping
