Big Agnes Torchlight Ul 20, 850 Downtek Sleeping Bag
This bag is honestly a dream come true. I'm a big guy, 6'3", 200lbs and the Torchlight accommodates my needs perfectly. The extension zippers are awesome, the feel of the bag next to skin is super soft and the bag compresses down very nicely. I wouldn't have thought that a 20 degree bag could be improved upon, but alas, Big Agnes has truly created something special. I can't recommend this bag enough. Get it. Seriously.

My wife and I both purchased the Big Agnes Torchlight UL 20 to replace our older / uncomfortable down sleeping bags. WE LOVE THEM. We've had them out on several multi-night trips in the Rockies. Most recently, we used them in the Flat Tops in Northwestern, CO. We had a lot of rain and there was quite a bit of dew in the early morning. Even though we woke up to some moisture in our tent the hydrophobic down that BA uses in these bags lives up to the hype! It's nice to FINALLY see hydrophobic down that performs as advertised. I love how versatile this bag is. I'm a 6'1". 200lb side sleeper and the regular size worked just fine for me. It's nice to see a brand doing something innovative in the sleeping bag market. We purchased the 20-degree version and it's more than warm enough for three-season camping in the Rockies. I'm a hot sleeper, but I plan on using this bag for winter camping as well. The material feels top-notch and is super comfy to sleep in. When I slept in my old bag the material always felt a little sticky against my skin. Perhaps my biggest praise to the torchlight is how well the zippers function. I don't think I have ever owned a sleeping bag where the zippers don't get stuck every time I try to get out of my bag in the middle of the night. I didn't experience any snagging throughout any of our trips. The versatility is why I ultimately went with the Torchlight which also lives up to the hype. I slept great all night with the zippers wide open. When temps get a ...

It's really big enough for a fairly large person without expanding. I like that it comes with a stuff sack in addition to the "backpacking" sack. It could compress a lot better with a better backpacking sack, but I just jam it into my pack anyway, so mostly I appreciate the large stuff sack for storage. It's pretty light but not under two pounds. Mainly I'd get this if you don't like having 2 inches of free space on each shoulder. Not only do you get maybe 2 inches each side without unzipping, but if you totally expanded this you'd have no right to worry about the bag weight if you didn't fit in it (you'd have to be a muscle man or something) . if you want a really large comfy bag, there would be only one other choice I'm aware of that goes to 70 inches and it's not adjustable. As a larger guy, I have no problem telling you to buy with confidence.
Best Used for:
casual backpacking

There's no doubt that Big Agnes makes some of the best camping gear on the planet (both in terms of comfort and performance) and this new line of Torchlite bags sums up everything we love about Big Agnes into one sleeping bag. I'm 6'2 and my girlfriend is 5'10 and both of us like to spread out while sleeping so the traditional mummy style bag has always been a squeeze for us, but with the new expandable sides on these bags we feel more comfortable than we've ever felt in a sleeping bag. We also appreciate the light weight and small pack size, making these our new go-to bags for spring/summer backpacking adventures. BA certainly lived up to their namesake, Mother of Comfort, on this one!
Pros:
Light, comfortable
Cons:
None
