Compact, durable with minimal vibration. Much quieter than my older pair of black diamond contour trekking poles. The cork handles are very comfortable and they help keep my hands dry. I am overall very satisfied with these poles. I contemplated getting the distance z poles because of how light they were. But I'm 6'3 and I found the fixed lengths they come in to be a bit of a down fall. The adjustability of these poles is worth the added weight. I was never a believer until I started using them. Trekking poles always seemed silly to me, but now, I never hike ANYWHERE without them. I hunch over much less when climbing uphill, and I have much more control when I'm coming downhill. A must have when hiking.
