These boots saved me on a winter snowshoe hike. FYI, those are great for that. They're lighter than mountaineering boots and the composite toe is great to elevate pressure off from the bindings of the snow shoe. On my last snowshoe hike, it was warm and I overestimated how tough the snow in the river was and went waist deep. Because these are insulated, my feet didn't even get cold despite being soaking wet in 10-20F for hours.
