The "top control straps" need buckles to release them from the top of the bag. Or, at least the one that runs right across the middle of the opening for the hydration compartment needs one. Yes, it's possible to work around, but come on, a non-removable strap running right over the middle of a compartment opening?!?! Also, while all the external pockets have drainage holes at the bottom, none of the internal ones do, including the rather sizable "loft pocket". If you ever need the drain holes, you're probably going to really wish they didn't skip adding them on the inside too. That's just what I found on a quick initial inspection when I received mine. Too many corners cut to save a few cents on manufacturing. Even more so, considering it's the most expensive item I can find right now on CamelBak's website.
