The axe comes extremely dull, I spent about 20 minutes with a heavy whet stone and then a medium whet stone trying to sharpen it and it still had a rough time taking an edge at all. The balance is OK, the handle is formed to fit your hand pretty well, but isn't the most comfortable material for a grip. For the price, eh you get what you pay for.
