Super packable and very comfortable - Edelrid Madillo Helmet

Ive has this helmet for over a year now and I can tell this is going to last many, many more years. The unique design allows you to fold the sides and back down to about 2-3 inches thick and makes storing it in your pack very convenient. I watch most of my climbing buddies strap a helmet to their pack, or even worse, opt not to bring one at all. This thing is very comfortable too. The padding is removable so you can easily wash by hand after every 4-5 trips out (if you sweat like me). The one trade off to the hard shell is that it’s not a feather weight. I much prefer a tiny bit more weight to have a helmet that’s not going to crack or get ruined without pampering it. You can look at the specs to see, but it’s weight is a non issue to me. Over all, I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking to stow their helmet in their pack for approaches. Quality build that I trust will last 10+ years.
