This is an amazing tent, 5-stars - Eureka Timberline SQ 4XT 4-Person Tent

Until this year, I backpacked and camped in an A-frame Hillary tent I got as a kid 30+ yrs ago. That tent finally wore out and so I then purchased a Marmot Catalyst 2P for backpacking and the Eureka Timberline SQ 4XT for camping with my scout troop and at state parks, summer camps, etc. The Marmot tent is small and lightweight like a packing tent should be. I also wanted a tent large enough to fit a a full-sized cot and allow enough room for gear/changing, etc. I am so pleased with the Eureka Timberline SQ 4XT tent. The technology has improved amazingly over the last few years. This tent is amazingly, repeat, amazingly simple to set up. The first time I set up the tent at home, I only had 30 minutes of light left and was able to fully set, disconnect, and pack the tent back up in less than 10 minutes! Did I mention how easy this tent was to set up? The poles are heavy duty, light, and form the A-frame skeleton of the tent in under a minute.

The poles are shock-corded together. The nubs at the bottom of the poles fit right into the grommets at the end of the nylon webbing connected to the base of the tent (just like my Marmot). Three of the connectors are orange and one is yellow to help one orient the fly correctly on the first try; what a nice touch! The spreader pole for the top was easy to install and the tent has reinforcing to prevent ripping. The end poles for the eaves are also easy to install and the fly has reinforcing to prevent ripping. No pictures on-line show it but the vestibule has a right side and a left side with a zipper (the online pics just show one side out. The tent has four pockets inside along with rings to attach a gear loft. The tent also has high-low venting to help keep the tent from getting stuffy on humid or rainy nights. The tent has doors on each end which facility easy entry and exit.

The only thing that does not pair up with this tent are the cheap metal and plastic stakes that come with it. This is an area in which Eureka could have done better. No worries though, just go on Amazon and order a 10 pack of aluminum stakes for under $10 and you will be good to go. I would definitely buy this tent again and I would absolutely recommend this tent to anyone.
