On the plus side, it does seen to repel bugs, but of course it is a small cap and protects a small area. It also provides good eyeshade. It looks okay. On the disappointing side, it was soaked with sweat up to the rim of the bill inside of an hour in 80 degrees on a moderate effort hike. The claim that special fibers woven into it provide cooling is unsubstantiated by my experience. It's not a hot weather hat for me, but should be good on a cool and buggy night.
