Tewtles's Review of Featherstone Outdoor UL Granite Backpacking Tent
The UL Granite 2P is a great starter backpacking tent for those that are non-ultralighters but prefer to have a end to end floor that could fit two full sized sleeping pads on each side. Most freestanding shelters would try to save weight by tapering the foot end of the tent which would have you revert to using a mummy shaped sleeping pad. That in itself is a calling for a poor sleep. The tent is lightweight weighing at just about 4 lbs if you ditch the footprint and carry just the minimum amount of stakes. It also comes with a footprint, gear loft, and a bunch of other dohickies that other brands would run you up for almost the price of this tent itself. This brand has given lots of legacy brands a run for their money and we can see some of these larger gear brands starting to bring in "entry-level" products
Pros:
value, performance, looks
Lightweight and quite waterproof
Durable and comfy
verstaile
Cons:
not ultralight
Best Used for:
Lightweight backpacking for 1 or 2.
Lightweight backpacking
Backpacking (multi-day)
Would Recommend:
