I bought this pack hoping to be able to replace a heavier pack I have (made by Deuter). The Granite Gear pack is lighter and this is the only positive thing I can say about this pack (Nimbus Trace Access 85 L). The Nimbus pack has straps all over the place. I counted 22 of them and probably missed a few. The straps on top of the backpack are too short for how much the top of the pack can be extended. The lid is strangely connected to the backpack and does not move up as much as the top of the backpack can expand. It even has straps inside the pack which are completely useless. The shoulder straps are flimsy and the compression straps are too narrow and hard to open or loosen up wearing gloves. Today’s backpack manufacturers must understand that the backpack has already been invented. They don’t have to re-invent it.
I returned the Nimbus and now I am back to my old backpack which works well as a backpack except that it is heavier that it needs to be, but I think I can live with that.
I would not recommend the Nimbus backpack to anyone.
