PROS:
1. Very quick assembly, literally two minutes. One minute to take apart and stow.
2. Tight, flat sleeping surface
3. Very strong frame, doesn't move or make noise as you turn
4. Feels like it easily supports your weight
CONS
1. Low. Difficult for older folks to get up off it.
2. Too heavy for backpacking in my opinion, but just right for kayak or canoe camping.
3. Price. Eeeek.
I first bought the Travel Chair SleepRite cot. The Helinox is a far, far better cot---much more stable, stronger, quieter, better materials. I also compared it to the Thermarest Luxury Lite and I think the Helinox is much simpler, stronger, more supportive, and more rugged.
The Helinox, like all cots, needs to be used with a mattress. I use it with the REI Campbed 3.5 (car camping) and the Exped Synmat 7 (kayak camping). The cot plus mattress is literally twice as comfortable as a mattress alone because it provides suspension and makes a lumpy ground irrelevant. Plus you can store things under it.
