My 11 y/o son is very happy with this pack after his first 8 mile mountain hike. He's 80lbs, skinny as a rail and not quite 5 feet tall. Pack fit him perfectly, was comfortable the entire hiking trip and had plenty of space for his gear and his share of patrol gear. He carried over 27lbs of gear and had some room for a bit more. Very functional beginner to teen Pack. He highly reccomends this Pac
