Reviews & Ratings for Kelty Late Start 2P Tent
— 3 reviews — Page 1
Kelty has made camping gear longer than I've been alive and there's a reason they're still in business. They make reasonably-priced, functional gear with campers in mind and this tent was designed for anyone who wants their tent set up to be the last thing they want to worry about when they camp. This tent is cake to set up and take down and you don't have to have set up a hundred tents to understand how to pitch it. Perfect backpacking tent for beginners. It's not as pricey as other lightweight tents if you are just starting and don't want to spend as much, but it is still decently light itself and compact for fitting in your pack. Easy to setup too.

I have not used it but set it up. Easy as pie. I bought this to replace my 10 year old Kelty tent that lost the waterproofing on the floor which I discovered at 30 degrees in a rain storm! I love that tent and this one seems to be this year’s replacement of my old tent. The quality seems just as good and true free standing was a requirement for me as well as easy set up. Not sure how I feel about the sleeves for the poles because I worry about them ripping.
Pros:
QUALITY
cost
weight vs cost
Cons:
Maybe too much mesh?
sleeves for poles if they wear out tbd
Best Used for:
Camping, kayak trips, bicycle trips
