Not quite perfect...still love it anyway
I got this jacket in pirate blue on clearance for $99 which was a steal. I'm 6'4, 190lbs and the size Large fits like a glove. If I were heavier it would be too tight, mostly at the bottom. Overall this jacket is dope and looks awesome - I get compliments on it all the time. It has an oiled cloth feel because it's water repellent. I don't regret the purchase one bit, especially for the price. But there are a couple of things that could be improved. First - the hood makes the collar really thick & stiff when it's stowed which might bother some people. Second, there's no liner or insulation whic...

Rugged, good-looking shell jacket
I guess I'm a little amused that, after decades of tinkering with high-tech fabrics and design, we're back to using updated versions of oilskins--fabric impregnated with wax and oil to make it tougher and weather-resistant. It's a good move, though, producing rugged, breathable garments that are easier to maintain and repair than their plastic competition. The Kuhl Kollusion is a really nice example, with a lightweight, waxed poly-cotton fabric that can be made close to fully waterproof by rubbing on more wax and melting it in with a heat gun (or dryer, or hair dryer...). It does need a little TLC from time to time, but so does everything, really. Fit-wise, I find it slim, but not silly. I'm 5' 10", 170 pounds, with a 40-inch chest and a 32-inch waist, and the medium fits me well with room for moderate layering. I'd prefer a drawstring waist to seal out drafts and at least one internal pocket, but I found those easy enough to add myself (did it in one morning with materials lying around the house). I definitely recommend the garment.
Pros:
- breathable
- Lightweight, durable,
Cons:
- could use an inside pocket
- Could use a drawstring waist.
Best Used for:
- Town or trail

Stylish Jacket
Comfortable Jacket. Fits true to size. Warm. I'm tall and slender, I find it hard to find clothing that fits my long arms and long torso, this covers me well. Canvas type material, can be left as is and it is softer or can wax the material for more waterproofing. Expected the jacket to be thicker than it actually is, so it is not a cold winter/snow jacket unless you add layers underneath.
Pros:
- Stylish and comfortable
Cons:
- Could be thicker
Best Used for:
- Casual night out

Great Jacket
Love the wax cotton look and feel. Love the discounted price on the blue color. sharp tailoring details and cut. Cut a little too sharp for me so I sized up for more freedom of movement in arms and shoulders, and some layering room. Expect to have this quite a while.
