This is a durable pant with a soft hand feel. The waist and length fit as listed. The color is also as advertised, no surprises. The variety of pockets give you the opportunity to figure out what goes where best. It's nice to have a convertible pant that doesn't have a little flap. The zipper is worked into the fabric cleanly to lessen any visible display. This is not a thick fabric pant that will keep you warm when it is below freezing but you wouldn't want that in a pant that you can convert into a short. You can always wear a base layer underneath the pant if you're hiking in colder temperatures. The cut of the pant is designed so you can move comfortably.
