Though it doesn't excel at any one type of climbing, it performs adequately in all mediums. It hikes well, as a lightweight boot should, but it's warmer than the other lightweight boots. The other con with this lightweight boot is the weight. It's not that light. Nevertheless, if you're looking for an all-around boot and it fits your foot, the Alpine Expert is not a bad choice.
