I have two doberman pinscher's and they are great guard, and watch dogs; but, they are high energy dogs and need a lot of exercise. Consequently, I walk them at least two miles each a day. I usually hike for four or five miles over varied terrain every day and also carry a 30lb.backpack. Lowa hunter, and tibet boots do an excellent job of protecting my feet and ankles; you notice it especially when carrying a heavy load. I have tried many different boots over the years, but the Lowa extreme hunter's, and tibet models are the best I have found so far.
Pros:
- well built, and excellent fit.
Cons:
- a little heavy compared to others
Best Used for:
- hiking especially with a backpack

Outstanding boots!! They have great support and very warm. Looks like they are very durable. Little warm for Alabama but can’t wait to take to the mountains to see. Won’t be disappointed with these!!!

After testing many other brands from completely custom boots to Lowa's direct competition, these exceed all the others. They are the best combination of construction support and traction I have found for my feet. 5'10, 200lbs. Hunt carrying a pack that weighs anywhere from 10bls to 50 lbs. Terrain is wet rocky, leave covered and very steep.

If you have never worn LOWA boots I would suggest you give them a try. I've owned 4 pairs in the past 3 years ranging from this pair of Hunter GTX EVO Extremes to light Renegade hiking boots. Every pair I have owned have fit well out of the box and are all very durable. Try them and you'll start replacing many of the boots that take many miles to break in.

This is my second pair of Lowa boots. I have a warm weather Banff Pro and love them. So when I needed a waterproof insulated pair I picked the Hunter Gtx. They work for my feet and after only a few days of use I packed out a bull elk and had zero foot issues. So far conditions have been fairly warm so I'm not yet sure how well the 200 gram primaloft works. My feet were getting hot with them in sunny 50 degree temps. I'm expecting good results in cooler weather. The taller Hunter gtx performed better than my Banff pros when side hilling over varied terrain. Lowa's are worth every penny, my Banff's are on their second sole and still perform great. Expecting the same from the Hunter gtx. I could not tell that the Hunter is slightly wider than the standard last. They also got true to size IMO.

Shipping was through UPS Mail Innovations... Which means you basically don't get tracking info.
Campsaver was great to deal with though.

I received these boots just before 2 snow storms arrived with cold temps. They were comfortable right out of the box. I wear size 12 but bought size 13 to allow for the heavy socks. My feet were warm and dry with no blisters. They are a little heavy but worth it. My first pair of Lowa boots are excellent.
