As far as I can tell, Lowa is really one of the only -- if not the only -- manufacturer who offers children's boots with the same level of design, materials, and quality found in nicer adult footwear. They're pricy, but if you can find them on sale, they're well worth it. This my son's second pair of Lowa boots (we've purchased both on sale), and he regularly mentions, unprompted, how comfortable they are. The first pair held up super well over more than a year of wear; although that didn't include any heavy hiking or severe mileage. But it did include plenty of kid-style mucking around that would have chewed up most kids footwear.
