Out of the box and out the back door! The Lowa Evo Ice GTX is a great boot: fits well, GTX kept my feet dry, warm enough for a late spring snowstorm, and grippy on a slushy, muddy trail. I always order 1/2 to full size larger because I like to wear heavy socks. I'm a woman's 9 in street shoes and the Lowa 9.5 is a perfect fit. There's room for a thicker sock but with the wool insole and fleece lining I doubt I'll need them. Like my other pair of Lowa's, these were comfortable right out of the box. My only suggestion for Lowa would be a beefier arch support but that's easy enough to remedy myself.
